Coimbra: Regenerating the Historic Centre and Reconnecting the City with its River

Coimbra is advancing two complementary strands of urban regeneration: rehabilitating its historic centre and transforming central riverside areas. Housing is a central component of both, within a broader integrated urban regeneration strategy that brings together public space, offices and employment, education, culture, sport and leisure, supported by improved mobility and a stronger local economy. This presentation will explore how Coimbra is using these interventions to revitalise urban areas and create more liveable, connected and vibrant neighbourhoods.
